MechWarrior: Living Legends Open Beta 0.2.0 Released |

Mechwarrior Living Legends beta patch 0.2.0 has been released, it includes a new installer, new maps, balance and performance changes. This is an all inclusive patch, with all the patch's rolled into one. (Be sure to delete the old mwill mod files from your crysis directory before you try to install the new patch.)
The updated mod files can be found, here.

That's right, looks like the dates are set to invading Fly's house. March 13-18 should be a good time. St. Patrick's day in a college town sounds good to me. Lets tear it up (The town, not the host's place.)

STO: In Need of a "Meaningful" Death Penalty |

Well, Cryptic seems to get to it. Executive Producer Craig Zinkievich believes that Star Trek Online needs a more "meaningful" death penalty, according to a recent comment made to IncGamers. I think the real thing he should have said, is that PvP needs a meaningful existence in STO tho.
Zinkievich explains Cryptic Studios' stance on death penalties:
I get that people want to feel a sense of risk when they’re fighting in battles, but if the only emotion you feel when you’re playing a game is fear that you’re going to lose some time due to an arbitrary gameplay mechanic, we’re probably not doing something right.
However, Zinkievich does agree that Star Trek Online could use a more meaningful death penalty, adding:
We are looking into finding a meaningful way to give players a deeper sense of loss when something bad happens. But we want it to feel right, rather than just like an arbitrary penalty.
Hopefully they continue to make some improvements in their game over the next few months. It could be a good game, but if I wanted to play in the arcade I would simply get a roll of quarters and go have a ball.
